What Is Judgement House?

WHAT IS JUDGEMENT HOUSE?

Judgement House is a walk-through drama that presents the truth of people's choices versus the consequences of those decisions both in this life and the next.
It's an effective tool to present the gospel and give individuals the opportunity to choose a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition, Judgement House continues to have an amazing impact on the church body or ministry that holds a presentation of their own.

Churches used to have revivals for two purposes:

  • Seeing people come to faith in Christ; see the lost get saved.
  • Seeing God's people revitalized in their spiritual walk.
Judgment House fulfills these two purposes by giving participants an opportunity to experience mission work first hand by:
  • Demonstrating the gospel by participating in the drama
  • Encouraging others in authentic faith.
  • Engaging in the Word.
  • Praying for all those involved and those who go through Judgment House.

The walk-through drama takes place throughout a series of rooms or scenes. With each room, a unique yet tragic story will unfold. Although the scripts vary content, setting, and characters, all of our scripts force the view to answer one important question, "Will you accept or reject God's offer of a saving and personal relationship through His Son Jesus Christ?

Throughout the first 6-7 scenes several main characters will have the opportunity to share, accept or reject Christ. After making their decision, a horrific, yet common tragedy will occur, catapulting them, along with the audience, into Judgement. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27 that "It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes the Judgment." Here, the characters and audience are faced with the condemnation of their unpardoned sin. Some receive eternal life through the blood of Christ, while others are left to pay the penalty of their sin ALONE in Hell.

The viewer then finds himself outside the gates of Hell. Reality has set in and hope has fled for the characters that chose to reject God's Son. They are addressed and reassured by the character of Satan that they now belong to him. Peering through the abyss, the audience gets an extremely visual as well as physical reminder that Jesus has offered them a way out of this future torment. Upon leaving Hell, one thing is clear
Rejecting Jesus = Choosing Satan.

Following Hell, the audience is ushered through the gates of Heaven in to the very presence of Jesus. Each member of the tour will have a sobering encounter with their Lord and Savior as He looks into their eyes and welcomes them home. In this scene, the viewer witnesses what has happened to the characters that placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The overwhelming presence of God is often too much to handle as grown men and women burst into tears at the thought of this glorious "homecoming."

The final portion of the presentation gives an overview of the story and provides the individual viewers with the opportunity to accept Christ as their Savior. Those who made decisions or would like to ask questions are then given the chance to speak with a one-on-one encourager to help drive home the commitment that was just made.

The Judgment House presentation takes approximately 1-hour to complete. With newgroups launching every 10 to 15 minutes, an average of 75 people can tour the presentation per hour.

"The legitimacy of Judgement House is not found in articles of incorporation; corporate by-laws; and, it is not found in the tax filingsfor a non-profit ministry. Rather, the legitimacy of Judgement House is found in the heart and purpose of the ministry and the results this ministry has produced."

HOW IS JH DIFFERENT
Judgment House is often confused with other similarly names and themes ministries, however there are very distinct differences between a Judgment House presentation and these ministries. The two ministries Judgment House if most often confused with are with Hell House, and Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames.

Judgment House and Hell House are only similar in that they are both walk-through dramatic presentation in which a guide helps audience members follow the story or scene being shared. This is the only thing they have in common. The message of a Judgement House presentation is that a person must make a choice about what to do with God's offer of a saving and personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ before their death. The Bible teaches that there are only two choices. One is to accept this gift of salvation and the other is to reject it. Not choosing is the same as rejection and each of these choices has consequences after death. Judgment House shows participants the consequence of choosing to accept the gift of salvation by giving audience members a small glimpse of what awaits them in Heaven as well as experiencing a small part of the eternal separation from God in Hell that is the consequence of rejecting that same gift.

Judgment House does not deal with socially controversial issues and instead chooses to focus the entire presentation and in fact every scene, even Hell, of presenting people with the opportunity to choose a saving and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Hell House on the other hand, deals very graphically with highly controversial social issues such as abortion, homosexuality, date rape and suicide. The guides for a Hell House presentation are demons who want to convince the audience that there is a penalty for these sinful social behaviors. Hell House is very controversial not only to most churches but to the general public as well. Hell House is headed by Keenan Roberts, Pastor of Destiny Church of the Assemblies of God, in Broomfield, CO. (Information about Hell House comes from their website as well as their readily available literature.)

Heaven's Gates & Hell's Flames© is an on-stage production. A cast of approximately 40 people (volunteers from a local church), act out a series of vignettes about people who live life, make their choices, die and find themselves outside of heaven asking the question, "Angel, is my name in your book?" (Rev. 20:15). If their name is found in the "Book of Life," a choir of angels sing and the person is welcomed into heaven by a smiling Jesus. However, when the answer is "no"...hell becomes their eternal destiny. This drama is usually presented in a church sanctuary. HGHF is owned by Reality Outreach Ministries Inc. and the local churches pay a fee for a Team Director from Outreach Ministries, Inc. to come and coach and train he cast-members, conduct the practices, set up the sound and lighting, and assign costumes. The Director is also an evangelist who gives an invitation at the conclusion of the presentation. (This information comes from the HGHF website). Judgment House is a walk-through dramatic presentation that takes place in a series of up to 9 room in various settings from stadiums to schoolhouses.
